The University of La Verne community gathered in the Sports Science and Athletics Pavilion on Wednesday, August 24 to celebrate the start of the academic year with Convocation.
The University of La Verne raised a record $1.1 million for student scholarships—and announced the receipt of more than $2.7 million in additional gifts and pledges—during the 2022 Scholarship Gala on Saturday, April 23.

More than 120 new University of La Verne students met with 21 local community organizations during the Office of Community and Civic Engagement’s (OCCE) annual FLEX & New Student Community Engagement Day on September 10.
Hundreds of first-year students eagerly lined up on August 15 at the check-in booth outside of Citrus Hall, the newest housing facility on the University of La Verne central campus, to collect their dorm keys. New students were finally moving into campus facilities for the first time since the pandemic necessitated remote-only instruction in March 2020.
The University of La Verne’s fourth annual Makerspaces for Innovation and Research in Academics (MIRA) conference will take place virtually on Thursday, July 15, and will feature a range of solutions from makerspaces all over the country.
Students will find it easier to cross-register between campuses and course delivery modes when the University of La Verne implements an academic calendar realignment beginning in fall 2021. In some programs, students may also be able to shorten their time to degree by enrolling in an extra session that the new academic calendar makes possible.
The City of La Verne honored the University of La Verne with a Community Design Award for the building housing the Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding, and Community Engagement.
